Inline Spectrophotometer for Flexo Presses

 

SpectroEdge, is an inline spectrophotometer that provides leading-edge flexographic presses the ability to measure and maintain accurate color at production speeds of up to 1000 feet per minute. By enabling highly accurate color measurements, real-time reporting, and rapid, “on-the-fly” automated ink adjustments, SpectroEdge will dramatically impact the digital and flexographic print marketplace by significantly reducing set-up time, increasing press run efficiencies and delivering previously unattainable levels of color quality.

SpectroEdge represents a powerful, enabling technology that marks a turning point in the flexographic print markets. Installed on a mechanical arm that traverses the web SpectroEdge reads color samples either at preset intervals or frequencies, or via a hard-wired signal initiated by the printing press controller. SpectroEdge converts the raw data, instantly interpreting the color values sent to the host computer to indicate or make automatic press adjustments.
