Company-Wide Color Control Initiative
We will identify a team of leaders to follow a seven-step company-wide control initiative implementation process by developing a series of process improvement teams.
Through close analysis, these leadership teams will identify key equipment calibration and control points throughout the workflow.
Once identified, leaders will work with individual departmental team members to develop, train, and implement new procedures to ensure a consistent, repeatable color workflow.
This implementation will use densitometric and colorimetric tools to quantify equipment capabilities, producing realistic contract color proofs.
With the elimination of human visual subjectivity and the implementation of densitometric and colorimetric measurement devices, on-press color matching time will be reduced by 60 to 80% by the time the project is completed.
We will assist in comprehensive project management, all employee training, and developing and implementing procedures. This lengthy process improvement project will expand over multiple months and require 100% commitment from the administration.
The project’s overall goal is to develop a consistent, repeatable color workflow that will increase productivity, improve customer satisfaction, reduce waste, and create a team atmosphere to break down communication barriers and enhance internal and external customer confidence.
Press Characterization Seminar
The press characterization seminar is a training session that we provide to our customers upon their request. It will take them to the second level of color consistency (80% to 90%). This training is done over a two-to-three-day period and involves the prepress and pressroom departments.
This seminar will teach the basic principles of process color reproduction, including workflow optimization, calibration, and densitometric press characterization. After this seminar, you will be able to identify the control points of your process and the procedures for performing a densitometric press characterization. The learner will also be able to describe how press curves are generated, where they are implemented, and how to control future runs.
