Challenge at ProAmpac’s Plant Called for Provident Doctor Blades
One of these facilities is located in El Dorado, Arkansas, under the management of General Manager David Sheppert. At this plant, which operates eight presses, David identified a significant issue: the doctor blades and end seals supplied by the machine manufacturers were leading to frequent chamber blowouts, resulting in costly downtime and inefficiencies.
Having previously collaborated with Anderson & Vreeland for custom printing solutions, David reached out to a Technical Sales Representative with Provident. A representative visited the El Dorado plant with samples of Provident doctor blades and a keen interest in providing the tailored solution that David and his team desperately needed.
A Hands-On Approach with Provident Doctor Blades
Provident’s visit was more than just a sales pitch; the representative actively engaged with the staff, demonstrating the functionality of Provident doctor blades and end seals. David decided to implement Provident products on one of the eight presses to evaluate their effectiveness. Initially hesitant due to the higher upfront costs, David soon recognized the substantial benefits.
“We were replacing blades almost every shift. With Provident doctor blades, we were turning them over about a third as much,” David noted. The durability and reliability of Provident products quickly became apparent, leading to significant long-term savings.
Transforming Operations with Provident Doctor Blades
As ink costs decreased on the press utilizing Provident doctor blades, David made the strategic decision to adopt these blades across all eight presses. The result not only minimized operational headaches but also enhanced product quality and substantial cost savings.
Reflecting on the partnership, David emphasized the exceptional level of customer service provided by Provident. “Provident truly delivers on their promise of custom solutions. His understanding of our needs and the way he communicated with my team made the transition seamless,” David shared.
A Partnership Built on Provident Doctor Blades
Provident presented ProAmpac with more than just samples; they offered a comprehensive solution that addressed the company’s challenges, ultimately saving time and money. This collaboration exemplifies how targeted, sustainable solutions like Provident doctor blades can transform operational efficiency in the packaging industry.
