Anderson & Vreeland’s First Orbital XP Water-Wash Processor Lands in Canada Jones Healthcare Group Leads North America with Next-Gen Platemaking Technology

Jones Healthcare Group, a premier pharmaceutical packaging printer based in London, Ontario, Canada, has become the first company in North America to install Anderson & Vreeland’s newest water-wash processor, the Orbital XP. This next-generation plate processor is already delivering measurable improvements in speed, cleanliness, and overall efficiency.

A Commitment to Sustainability

Jones Healthcare Group has long prioritized environmentally responsible production. In 2017, they transitioned to Toyobo Cosmolight photopolymer plates and installed two Orbital processors to support their sustainability goals. With production demands continuing to grow, the company recently upgraded one of its original units to the Orbital XP, unveiled by Anderson & Vreeland at LabelExpo 2024.

Technical Sales Representative, Sean Sawa stated that Anderson and Vreeland, ULC is proud that Jones Healthcare Group has decided to upgrade their platemaking to the newest technology available. “There is something reassuring to a client when they know their supplier is investing in new technology and processes. By Jones upgrading their platemaking equipment, they now have something new to talk about with their clients.”

Jones Healthcare Group embraces their responsibility for the impact their production output has on the environment and their workers. By reducing energy and material use and optimizing recyclability through implementing sustainable packaging practices such as water-wash plate technology, they have won industry accolades and consumer respect from their clients.

Enhancing Technology

Lead platemaker for Jones Healthcare Group, Lenny Lobb, also expressed he is completely and totally thrilled with the new Orbital XP. “The technology in the new Orbital is absolutely next generation. Even the smallest things like raising and lowering the lid with the push of a button is easier than the original Orbitals. The new Allen Bradley control panel is user friendly and has quick colour indicators, and the post exposure and detak are done simultaneously.”

Partnership Beyond Equipment

Jones Healthcare Group values not only quality and sustainability but also the strength of its supplier relationships to keep their operations moving forward.  “The service and support from Sean and the team at Anderson Vreeland Canada has always been the highest level,” stated Lobb. “I was always kept in the loop and updated weekly during the manufacturing of this next generation Orbital. Anderson Vreeland took care of the CSA certification, transport, removal of the old Orbital, setup, and calibration of the new one. Sean came by two days after the AVC Tech Team completed the installation for follow-up to make sure everything was done to my satisfaction.”
